THE AIM THEORY

By Francisco Fierro

Ambition by way of Inspiration by way of Motivation (AIM).  It all begins with the seed of acknowledgement and will grow to a powerful change for greater Leadership.

“A waterfall begins from only one drop of water.”
Bryce Courtenay ~ The Power of One

  •     Motivation is an external source that drives a person to act.

  •     Inspiration is an internal keen desire that makes us committed until we attain the goal.

  •     Ambition is striving for achievement with a willingness to work through adversity.

AIM is a simple concept to build a group of individuals to a team of leaders.  All it takes is empathy in your leadership.  Learn to understand that your team is already motivated, because that stimulus is motivating your people to ‘strap their boots’ in the morning and show up.  Find their motivators and support their cause, then feed the efforts of their work through acknowledgement, no matter how simple it may be. “Celebrate the small victories.”

Thus begins the waterfall.

Through these acts of gratitude builds trust.  In this safe environment nurtures a person inspiration for pride in their craft, pride in their team, pride in their achievements, thus establishing an inspiration to advance as a leader.  All you have to do is nurture their innovative thoughts and the innate desire to grow and develop.  Eventually a person strives to become self-reliant with aspirations for self-esteem and self-respect.  At this point is providing challenges to help your team member to master their talents and self-development.  With these challenges, ambition sets in and your team member is inspired to migrate to reach peak experience.  To aspire to mastery and become a subject matter expert; a mentor to the apprentice; an innovator; acquire superior leadership.

And all you had to do is provide an environment to let them grow.
